A woman finds parellels between her relationship and the story behind a book that she's reading.
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
TRACI sits up in her bed reading a book.
MICHAEL enters, already dressed for bed. He walks to his side of the bed and gets inside of the covers.
He also sits up but instead of a book he’s typing on his tablet.
FINALLY...
MICHAEL
New book?
TRACI
Yeah. Its called the line between two points.
MICHAEL
What’s it about?

TRACI (CONT’D)
The main character in the book purchases a pair of virtual reality glasses that make it possible to travel places and experience things that he never imagined he’d ever be able to, every time he wares them. He meets so many new people, learns about so many different cultures yet he has no idea about the things that are going on in his own home.
Beat.
TRACI (CONT’D)
One day the glasses stop working, he discovers that his son is sick, and they’re house is in foreclosure because his wife had to take out a second mortgage to pay the medical bills and quit her job to stay home and monitor his health. The husband is filled with so much grief realizing all that all that the glasses have allowed him to experience and see has made him lose sight on what matters most, the people close to him. The story ends with him finally realizing that he’s still wearing the glasses and what he’s experienced was on of the side effects from continual use but with his discovery he’s taught what it is in his life that matters the most.
MICHAEL
That books sounds very intense, unrealistic but intense.
TRACI
I guess. So what are you over there doing?
MICHAEL
Booking my companies next big trip. We’ll be gone for awhile so I have to make sure the trip is organized.
TRACI
When is it?
MICHAEL
The 25th. You think you’ll be able to take me to the airport?
TRACI
Depends on the time? That’s the day I hear back from the lender and also the day I’m supposed to take Jason to his appointment.
MICHAEL
What type of appointment Does Jason have? And what’s this about a lender?
